Community Involvement

This is one of the ways Purple Ink Insurance Agency, Inc., acted in response to the Atlantic hurricane of 2005:

Bring Us Your Books!

red bookThe New Orleans Public Library is asking for any and all hardcover and paperback books for people of all ages in an effort to restock the shelves after Hurricane Katrina. The staff will assess which titles will be designated for its collections, and the rest will be distributed to families or sold for library fundraising.

Please drop off your books weekdays at Purple Ink Insurance Agency, Inc., 15 Alden Street, Ashland. We also would appreciate a cash donation to help pay for shipping the books being collected.

TIP OF THE MONTH

To prevent damage to your home from indoor flooding:

Check and replace washing machine hoses annually.

Water heaters, safety valves, and washing machines that are located above the first floor or in a finished basement should have drain pans.

Know where your water meter and shut-off valves are located. (Make sure the valves work by turning them on and off at least a couple times a year.)
